Members of the Local Salary Survey Committee attended a training at UNFCC in Bonn (Germany) on 23-24 February. The salary survey for G staff takes place every 8 years and determines the salary scale for locally recruited staff. It is based on the best comparators in the Netherlands, a number of whom will be approached and those retained interviewed in detail.
Prior to that phase, a job inventory, job benchmarks and tax analysis have to be carried out. This is a complex and demanding exercise for all those involved, particularly as the economic conjuncture is not favourable and a positive outcome is not guaranteed. A negative outcome would mean a salary freeze for current staff, and a lower starting salary for new, including those transferring to the MICT.
