Pub Quiz Night: and the winners are...

The first ever inter-agency Pub Quiz took place Thursday 10 July at Fiddler's in the Centruum.

100 players with teams from the ICC, ICTR, ICTY, MICT and STL battled for top honours and bragging rights in a heated but friendly night of trivia competition.

MICT team "Matt and the Mechanics" won first prize!

Highlights also included the winning dance off tie-breaker by the ICTR's Jesse Leff and the over-the-top team spirit of team Fleetwood MICT.

Your ICTY/MICT staff union helped organize the event paid the entrance fee for all 5 teams from this tribunal.

"It was a great night with lots of team spirit and Tribunal pride on display! There was trivia, team t-shirts, beer and an unplanned dance-off. I found it a great opportunity to get to know colleagues better in a fun environment. I also now know the capitol of Eritrea!" - Amy Tector (Archivist MICT)

"The Pub Quiz Night was an excellent night of fun, competition and overall ‘gezelligheid’.

We got a wonderful opportunity to evacuate our brains from the surplus of knowledge gathered during decades of lingering around, walking the earth and being in service of International Justice. And, as a bonus, we were offered new knowledge to replace the old.

Valuable knowledge I might add, about math and bats. And handy as well, since I now know that if I ever get in the situation where I have to catch pigs running away, I should not chase them to the river, because they will swim to their freedom faster than a scalded dog (and if this is a ‘working dog’, or ‘gun dog’ does not seem to matter to the pig)." - Klaas Zondergeld (Archives Assistant MICT)

Many thanks to our teams and their supporters for making the night a big, sweaty, silly success!

We are currently organizing another social event, the end of summer beach bash, again with our colleagues and friends from the ICC, STL.

We'll keep you posted on the details.
