Monday 27th of January is the International Holocaust Memorial Day.
The Staff Union has decided to recognize this day with particular attention to the heroic efforts of men and women from the Balkans who risked their lives trying to save Jews from certain death....
There will be a display of all the countries of the former Yugoslavia with stories and photos of the acts of courage by all ethnicities from the region.
We are honoured to have as guests three Holocaust survivors from the former Yugoslavia who were saved and will tell their positive stories of rescue.
In addition we have been granted permission from filmmaker Rachel Goslins to screen the not yet released 45-minutes documentary Besa (The Promise) which tells the story of Albanian Muslims who saved Jews from deportation by enacting the code of Besa.
