Members of the Local Salary Survey Committee attended a training at UNFCC in Bonn (Germany) on 23-24 February. The salary survey for G staff takes place every 8 years and determines the salary scale for locally recruited staff. It is based on the best comparators in the Netherlands, a number of whom will be approached and those retained interviewed in detail.
Staff unions have proposed concrete steps to resolve the crisis at the pension fund, whereby new retirees are going six months without any payment despite having rent and bills to pay.

On 27th January, a medal ceremony was held in the lobby of the Tribunal. More than 60 ICTY staff received their award in the service of international justice for 3, 5, 10 and, for the first time, 15 and 20 years. The event, attended by staff and their guests, was quite enjoyable, formal and fun at the same time. A picture gallery will soon be made available.
